Spine Conditions and Treatment

The spine, or backbone, is made up of 33 smaller bones called vertebra that support your body. Your spine is responsible for giving your body shape, supporting your posture, protecting your spinal cord, and allows you to sit, stand, walk, twist and bend. Because the spine is so long, it is made up of four different parts: the cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, and sacrum. Understanding the anatomy of the spine is an important part of understanding spinal health. Dr. Chandler believes that informed patients are empowered patients. Click below to learn more about the anatomy of the spine and how it relates to spinal health.
